TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR USING THE WEBSITE AND THE ELECTRONIC PAYMENT PLATFORM OF "DANUBE BRIDGE VIDIN-CALAFAT" AD

 

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS AND IDENTIFICATION  

1.1. These Terms and Conditions (T&C) govern the rules for using the website https://www.vidincalafatbridge.bg (hereinafter referred to as the "Website") and making electronic payments for toll fees for crossing the "Danube Bridge Vidin – Calafat" facility.  

1.2. The owner and administrator of the Website is "Danube Bridge Vidin - Calafat" AD, UIC: 202501062, with its registered office and management address at: Vidin Region, Vidin Municipality, Antimovo Village 3776, "Grinduri" Area, 96th Str., No. 4 (hereinafter referred to as the "Company").  

1.3. Any user (physical or legal entity) who uses the Website or makes a payment through it agrees to these T&C. 

 

2. SUBJECT OF THE ELECTRONIC SERVICE  

2.1. The Website provides the opportunity for remote electronic payment of toll fees for vehicles crossing the bridge facility, in accordance with the approved Tariff of fees (Euro or Romanian Lei, depending on the direction of travel).   

2.2. IMPORTANT LIMITATION: The possibility for online payment under Art. 2.1 applies SOLELY to Category 1 vehicles – passenger cars (with up to 8+1 seats).   

2.3. The online payment platform DOES NOT support payment of fees for trucks, buses, and specialized equipment (vehicles with a maximum permissible gross weight over 3.5 tons or with more than 8+1 seats). These vehicles shall pay the due fees on-site at the physical toll booths of the facility.  

2.4. The electronic payment generates a digital confirmation (electronic receipt) linked to the registration number of the car.  

 

3. PRICES, CATEGORIZATION, AND PAYMENT  

3.1. The crossing prices are publicly announced on the Website and are determined in accordance with the active Tariff, in the respective currency according to the direction of travel (Euro or Romanian Lei).   

3.2. User's Responsibility: By making the payment, the User declares that the vehicle meets the requirements for Category 1 (passenger car with up to 8+1 seats). The User bears full responsibility for the correct entry of the registration number and the country of registration.   

3.3. Prohibition of Incorrect Use: In the event that a User makes an online payment for a vehicle that does not meet the criteria for a passenger car (e.g., a cargo truck or a bus), the payment will be considered invalid for that specific vehicle. When crossing the checkpoint, the driver will be required to pay the full fee for the actual category at the booths in cash or by card.

4. VALIDITY AND CANCELLATION OF PAYMENT  

4.1.The electronically paid fee is valid for a single crossing of the specified vehicle within the period determined during the purchase process (if such regulation applies). 

4.2. IMPORTANT (Exception to the right of withdrawal): Pursuant to Art. 57, para. 1 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), the user loses their right of withdrawal from the contract (14-day refund period), as the service of providing the right of passage is executed/activated immediately after confirmation of payment in the bridge's information system.  

4.3. Amounts paid due to incorrectly entered data (wrong registration number or incorrect category) by fault of the user are not automatically refunded and are subject to review on an individual basis by submitting a written complaint.  

 

5. RULES OF CONDUCT AND SAFETY WHEN USING THE FACILITY  

5.1. The Website provides up-to-date information regarding weather conditions, traffic, and temporary traffic organization. Users are obliged to get acquainted with it before traveling.   

5.2. All drivers are obliged to strictly comply with the instructions of the Company's employees, road signs, as well as the safety rules on the bridge (including the prohibition of walking on the roadway in case of emergency and the obligation to move behind the safety guardrail). 

 

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 

6.1. The Company is not liable for delays during crossing caused by:  

6.2. The Company is not liable if the user has entered incorrect data during the electronic payment, which has led to sanctions imposed by the road control authorities.  

 

7. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION (GDPR) 

7.1. The Company processes personal data (e.g., vehicle registration number, email address for sending receipts, IP address) in accordance with the GDPR and the Personal Data Protection Act. 8. DISPUTES AND APPLICABLE LAW 

8.1. For all matters not settled in these Terms and Conditions, the active Bulgarian legislation and the bilateral international treaties between the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania regarding the operation of the bridge shall apply..   

8.2. All disputes shall be resolved through negotiations, and if an agreement is not reached – by the competent court in the city of Vidin, Republic of Bulgaria.
